Portage - Kent

Kent is king in Portage County. It's the largest city in this administrative part of Northeast Ohio, supported by a local population of approximately 30,000 people. It went from being a village borne out of sections of Franklin Mills and Carthage into a city of its own rite and, eventually, the local county seat. Sometime during the course of its history, hundreds of trees were planted throughout the city, earning Kent its nickname: Tree City.

Located in central Portage County, Kent spreads out over nine square miles of land. It is almost next-door neighbors to Akron, which is roughly 12 miles away via three major thoroughfares: OH-59, I-76, and Northeast Avenue. Kent shares borders with Brady Lake, Stow, Brimfield, and Franklin Township.
